Current year not filed

Updated over a month ago

Are you an advisor who recently took advantage of the TaxStatus Instant Insights process? If you have not yet filed your most recent year of tax returns, you may receive a letter from the IRS.

You can access this letter by logging into your IRS.gov account. It may also be sent as a letter via the United States Postal Service.

The notice will tell you that there is missing information that was requested from the IRS. This refers to the missing tax return filing for the prior tax year. You may receive this notice if you have not filed the prior year's return. It is not necessarily indicative of any problem. Most people file their tax returns in April. If you filed an extension of time to file your tax return, you may receive this notice until your return is filed and processed.
