IRS Mailings

My client received an IRS letter or notice

Updated over a month ago

My client received a mailing from the IRS. What should I do?

Most notices and/or letters from the IRS are informational and no action is required.

If this mailing concerns the request submitted by TaxStatus to access their records, look in your TaxStatus system. If the IRS authorized the request and records are available, they may safely discard this mailing.

If no records are present, the request was likely denied indicating that something in the request does not align with the IRS records. See how to Edit & Resubmit a new request.
