What is an active household?

How do I know if a household counts towards my usage?

Updated over 3 months ago

In TaxStatus, Households are defined as any two people who file jointly, their dependents, businesses, trusts, and estates.

A household is active if at least one member of the household has records available.

To find all the households in your system, visit Settings >> System Reports

  • The Household Consent Report details the Households by taxpayer. Each taxpayer is listed on a separate line. It shows the date consent was granted, when records first came in from the IRS, and the last time those records were updated. It also shows if the taxpayer is duplicated across multiple households. If you find this to be true, please contact [email protected] for assistance.

  • The Taxpayer Case Report shows all the households in your system by household name, the date the household was created, the date it was deleted, abbreviated taxpayer ID numbers, and any notes you have added. It does not show if the household is active.
