The consent process is quick and easy. Unless your advisor pre-filled these details, you will be asked to provide your name, SSN/EIN, and contact information. Then, you will complete a quick identity verification step with your government ID and finish up by reading and e-signing the authorization document.

By providing your consent, TaxStatus will request your tax information from the IRS and disclose it to the Authorized Recipient (i.e., the requesting advisor, professional, or institution), covered by the time period indicated in the official authorization language.

Upon completing the digital authorization, your consent remains active for the time period indicated in the official authorization language, which is most commonly 3 years from the date of consent. However, you can revoke your consent at any time.
