What does the Update Records button do?

On an individual or business taxpayer's transcripts page, there is an Update records button.

This button works if you have a signed consent and records are available from the IRS. When you push Update Records, the system will reach out to the IRS system to update all of the transcript types available for the tax periods under consent.

The system takes time to update all of the transcripts. You will receive an email when the updated records are available.

Each user may use this button on up to three taxpayers at a time. If you need additional client files updated, please reach out to [email protected]
