How do I edit the length of consent?

Updated over 11 months ago

Once you have added a taxpayer to the system, you can adjust the scope of your request BEFORE you request consent.

  • First, add a taxpayer (see How do I order Tax Records in Related Articles). When you click the box to "Request tax records for this person," some new options will appear at the right.

  • Click on the word Scope and a new set of options will appear.

  • Use the drop down menus to edit the number of years of Past and Future data to request.

    • IRS limits Tax Return and Record of Account Transcripts to four years in the past.

    • IRS limits Wage & Income Transcripts to 10 years in the past.

    • IRS limits Account Transcripts to 25 years in the past.

    • IRS limits Future consent in the future to 3 years.

  • For business returns, use the drop down menu to change the month that their fiscal year ends. This applies to forms 1120, 1065, and 990.

  • Save details and then Send clients your bespoke consent link.
