How to Reconsent a Taxpayer

Updated over a month ago

Why would you want to gather consent again on a taxpayer?

  • There was an error in your original request. For example, you realize you used the name "Jen" instead of "Jennifer" or you now want to collect their ID and selfie.

  • You want to change which consent link you send them - maybe the new link includes a partner organization.

  • The IRS denied the original request.

Follow these steps to reset an individual taxpayer's consent:

Go to the taxpayer's profile page:

  1. Click Scope and 2. Reset the request.

  • Make edits and Save.

  • Copy the Taxpayer Consent Experience you want to share with your client.

Follow these steps to reset a business taxpayer's consent:

  1. Click Scope and 2. Reset the request.

  • Make edits and Save.

  • Go to the Authorized Signer's profile.

  • Copy the Taxpayer Consent Experience you want to share with your client.
