What does "tax return secured" mean?

Sometimes when a taxpayer files their tax return, the IRS will mark it as secured. That means the IRS has received the filing, but they have not yet reviewed and accepted it as filed. This IRS transaction will appear on the taxpayer's Account Transcript.
