What if a signer has Power of Attorney for the taxpayer?

Updated over a year ago

If the taxpayer is not able to sign for themselves, another person may have Power of Attorney to grant permission to request their IRS records. If this is the case, a manual process is required that includes a wet signature and providing legal proof of Power of Attorney privileges.

If you encounter this situation, please reach out to TaxStatus support for assistance by emailing [email protected] or using the Ask feature of the FAQ section.
