Single sign-on (SSO)

With SAML-based single sign-on (SSO), users can access TaxStatus through an identity provider (IdP) of their choice.

Configuration

Follow the steps below to enable SAML-based SSO for your account.

Setup your IdP SAML settings

  1. Go to your identity provider's configuration section and follow the provider's instructions to configure a new single sign-on application.

  2. Define the SAML configuration with the following specs:

You can find your account short code in your TaxStatus account settings by logging into https://app.taxstatus.net and navigating to 'System Settings' in the menu in the upper right of the screen.

Configure User Attributes

The below fields are what is minimally required for SSO. If you have more complicated use case, start a chat with the TaxStatus Support Team to discuss any other attributes.

Setup your TaxStatus Account

Download the following files from your IdP:

  • Federation Metadata XML file (configuration settings)

  • Public Key x.509 Certificate (Base64)

Start a chat with TaxStatus Support Team or email [email protected] with the two files and answers to the following questions:

  • Do you want new users automatically registered to your account at first sign-in?

  • If yes, what should be the default role: approval required, Read-Only or Records & Insights

TaxStatus Support Team will update your Account to enable SSO and let you know when it is active. This is usually within 24-48 hours.
