In TaxStatus, Households are defined as any two people who file jointly, their dependents, businesses, trusts, and estates.
If you are approaching the start of a new contract term, you may want to clean up the active households your team uses. The date you delete a household matters. A household that was active during a contract year counts towards your usage until the next contract year begins.
Deleting a household cannot be undone. Do not delete a household if you will need it again during your current contract cycle. Any new households added will count towards your usage and may have a billing implication.
Click on the household name.
Choose Delete this household.
Confirm your selection.
Deleting a household cannot be undone. To reactivate the taxpayers in the deleted household, add a new household that contains the desired taxpayers. If their consent and IRS authorization are still valid, you will be able to update their records. Otherwise, you will need to follow the steps to Reconsent a Taxpayer.
